The grant funds were used to purchase materials needed to construct the combat arena. Students in high school materials courses and in the PVRambotics/STEM Club, grades 7-12, worked together to design a combat arena. Materials were ordered, and a partial shipment arrived in February. The project was to be completed by mid-March, but construction was halted by Covid-19 and the closing of school facilities.

The grant funds were used to purchase the kit containing everything needed to operate the coffee cart which is run by persons with disabilities. Ten learning support students in grades 9-12 received training to operate the cart, as well as knowledge and skills related to resume writing, communication, money management, team work, and time mangement.

Flexible Seating – Second grade in Centre Hall purchased yoga ball chairs to create more flexible seating options that improve concentration and reduce fidgeting.

Camp Library – Kathy Wert funded a large, continually refreshed collection of books to increase reading options.

COVID-19 Fund

Journal Publishing – Sarah Farrant used her grant to fund the publication of Asylum, the high school literary and art journal.

Artist In-Residence – Steph Ripka was able to bring in an artist in-residence to mentor painting classes in the impressionist style.

iPads for Workouts – The Phys Ed Department used iPads to implement workouts incorporating fitness concepts learned in class.

Pedometers to Track Activity – The Phys Ed Department purchased pedometers to measure the daily activity of students in physical education classes.

Genesis Grants – Breakout Boxes & STEAM Materials

Breakout Boxes – Laura Fragassi created breakout boxes that teach students to work together, think creatively and critically, and complete challenges

STEAM Materials – Cassie Vincent purchased STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) materials for the newly developed STEAM lab to create more hands-on learning experiences.
